A visit to the island is definitely an experience for most people. Tylerton is a small watermen's community in the Chesapeake Bay with no crowds, no cars and beautiful views of the water and marsh, lots of birds, incredible sunsets, and the bustling of crabbers and crab boats.
Pauline’s House is on the water in the heart of town and close to the ferry, the tiny post office, the Drum Point Market and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation education center. It is still peaceful however, since Tylerton only has 56 permanent residents! The freshest crab cakes and Smith Island cakes are within steps of the front door. You can rent the house for a weekend, a week, or just overnight.
Start your visit with the ferry ride from Crisfield, Maryland.
